The sad fact is that nobody in his cricket team really mourns Colin Myers' passing. He was neither a great player, nor a sparkling conversationalist. But when Jack Slater discovers that Myers had been living a double life, he, Jamie, and Kaitlin are drawn into investigating his apparent suicide. As the case goes on it becomes increasingly clear that beneath the innocent chocolate-box imagery of English village cricket lies an altogether darker truth waiting to be uncovered. Once again, Slater and Mahoney are going to have to spend less time on culinary exploration and more time on criminal investigation – there's a murder to be solved.
