Overview

Lea: The last person I expect to see in my Pilates class is my former stepsister. It’s been a longggg time since I’d seen Vail. Our time as siblings (using that term VERY loosely) was only a few years, and once the ink on the divorce was dry, I never expected to hear from her again. I’m even more shocked when she asks me for an outrageous favor. Not a single word from her for years, and now she wants to act like we owe each other something? I’d tried to bond with her when we were teens, but she’d rebuffed every attempt so I’m not sure what made her think I’d be the best person to come to. Still, her proposition is intriguing. I’d particularly enjoy getting back at my wicked ex-stepmother.

Vail: I’ve been informed by my mother that she’s getting married. Again. This is husband number four and I hate him even more than the last two. He’s everything that’s wrong in the world and I’m not going to let this sack of Richards into my family without a fight. I can’t stop the wedding (tried that), but I sure as hell can make it uncomfortable. That’s where my former stepsister Lea comes in.

Lea: I can’t believe I said yes to going as her wedding date, but Vail explained it in a way that I couldn’t say no to. That’s Vail though. Brash. Fearless. Doesn’t take no for an answer if she wants something. She was beautiful before, but she’s something even more now. So inconvenient, this attraction. I have absolutely no clue that she’s into me too until she yanks me off the dance floor and into the boathouse at the reception after a few too many glasses of expensive champagne.

Vail: Rolling around on the floor of the boathouse with Lea wasn’t part of the plan, but it happened, it was life-alteringly good, and now I’m in way over my head. Being crushed under the weight of far too many feelings that I’m not prepared to deal with, and developing an obsession with a gorgeous woman that I can’t seem to keep my hands off was never part of the plan. This is an unmitigated disaster.
