Keket Cheshire is a top-tier occultist—someone who hunts metaphysical monsters for profit—and a half-ghost esper, on top of being an avowed pacifist. She leads a team with an unprecedentedly low mortality rate and she aims to keep it that way. Tanya Gallo is a nobody with no future. That is, until Keket drops out of the sky in front of her and Tanya becomes infatuated with her new idol, the antithesis to everything Tanya hates about her own life. Keket's commitment to a stable, quiet life with her teammates is rattled by two simultaneous crises: her infatuated fan, who wants to be her peer badly enough to dabble in dangerous magic and befriend deadly monsters, and a homicidal occultist looking to purge the industry of "undesirables."
