A healer’s best chance to save a life lies with the woman she has rejected in the past. Saving patients is difficult when you don’t have the right medicine. Anlei needs a phoenix feather that only a court alchemist can provide. Unfortunately, the only court alchemist she knows is Cordla—the woman who Anlei rejected when they were students at Starfall Academy.

Unable to ignore her patient’s needs, Anlei visits Cordla for a favour. But the silver fog rolls in, and they are stuck together till the danger passes. Forced to spend the day in each other’s company, they summon old memories, reveal hidden secrets, and rediscover a familiar warmth.
