Attending the spa opening was supposed to be a quick in-and-out ordeal for Vesper. The plan? Lurk in the corner, roll her eyes at the overpriced cucumber-infused water, and avoid talking to anyone who treats small talk like a competitive sport.

But Vesper—a snarky, sharp-fanged Dhampir with a penchant for brooding and solitude—never gets off that easy. Especially not when the party’s drink service is handled by Roxie: Bramblemoor’s pin-up–pretty brewmaster, a flirtatious witch who radiates affection, sass, and sunshine in equal measure. She’s also, inconveniently, the girl Vesper’s been secretly smitten with.

Life is hard.

Unfortunately for Vesper, life is about to get even harder. When she learns the spa was built atop sacred hot springs guarded by an ancient water spirit, her love life isn’t the only problem anymore. And when the banishment ritual goes spectacularly wrong, the furious guardian traps the party-goers inside. Suddenly, guests are targets, the atmosphere is more haunted house than hot stone massage, and the werewolf sheriff is giving Vesper some serious side eye. Now, Vesper and Roxie have to team up to uncover who angered the spirit and figure out a solution before Bramblemoor’s cozy new spa becomes a watery tomb. Between dodging vengeful magic, navigating feelings (eek!), and finding out that opposites really do attract, Vesper has to face the one thing scarier than supernatural wrath: the possibility that Roxie might actually like her back.
