Overview

"Why is love so hard to be truthful about?" Cassie - Mrs. Moore's maid

This moving story beings in 1904, Hattie's last year of finishing school. She feels trapped by her surroundings and dreams of experiencing what's left of the "Old West". Her chance comes when an ambitious young man proposes marriage along with a homestead in Tucumcari, New Mexico Territory. She falls ill and is about to give birth when Rosalinda enters her life as her caretaker. Soon they find an attraction to each other that neither fully understands or dares to express.

The death of a gay attorney sets off a series of heartbreaking events and insurmountable challenges for them both.

So how do Hattie and Rosalinda survive in a town where they once were loved and accepted, but would be damned or possibly killed if their true feelings were known?

In Book Two Hattie and Rosalinda continue the struggle of finding a way to share their love and their lives. It is 1905 and the New Mexico Territory is still considered the wild west.

The murderous inclinations of the righteous citizens in the town of Tucumcari force our characters to consider every word and painfully weigh their every move. The wrong choice could yield dire consequences to them and the children.

Unforeseen catastrophes are on the horizon, and they'll need help; but who can they turn to when the world would be glad to be rid of them?

Through the eyes of Hattie and Rosalinda, you will come to understand the subtitle, "The Other Legend," but no one is likely to talk about it - unless you do!

I think I found the worst book ever and I simply must make a comment to say that book can be very upsetting for those without nerves of iron.
It's an anti LGBT book. And last 3-4 chapters were literally "wtf I'm reading????"
Writer killed almost all characters and those who graciously were allowed to live ended in completely bizarre situation and loveless.
At the ending of those books I was flying over completely misbelieving what I see.
It was such an absurd that I almost started to laugh out loud at this forced tragedy.
