Overview

It's the Edwardian era in the wintry English countryside. Matilda Whitaker is taking a much desired break from her work as a professor's assistant to assess the condition of the mansion her recently dead aunt left to her. Unfortunately, the woman was as negligent as she was unpleasant to be around.

Matilda despairs when she sees the state of the beautiful home--but visions of dust and grime are wiped away when she meets the resident gardener, a green-eyed woman named Jacqueline.

The two ladies take to each other like moths to a proverbial flame, a fire that burns bright and keeps them warm through the winter at the drafty estate. But what will happen when their snowy dream ends and Matilda must return to the city?
