Ingrid is just minding her business, taking her belated GED tests, and generally enjoying her life. Emerald City has been great for her esteem and for her health—mental and physical.Her celebration, after her tests are completed, is interrupted by a horrible murder with a body dumped in broad daylight. The grievous display is indicative of an ancient human society known as Hunter Killers, or HKs for short. They’ve invaded Emerald City and have started dropping bodies in the literal street.Ingrid soon realizes the terrible threat is far worse, as the humans are not the only enemies she’s faced with in the shocking wave of terror-style militaristic assaults across Emerald City.The humans want to purge the world of all immortals, including a certain tribrid girl.
