Jet-setting writer Paula Carson is in trouble…

While she was gallivanting throughout Europe, writing her series of best-selling travelogues under her pseudonym Rock Stevens, back in the States, her business manager was doing shady things with her money.

The kinds of things that got the attention of the U.S. Treasury Department.

Now, back in America, Paula has discovered that her business manager has run off with all of her money, leaving her virtually penniless. Fortunately, her editor has a terrific idea for generating some much needed income until the authorities can get her money back: Paula will travel to California, and write a new book about life in the newfangled tract home communities sprouting up there.

Lana Delavane is the manager of one of those newfangled tract communities in California, and she’s proud of her work, and the community, Mira Costa Springs.

Suddenly, into Lana’s nicely ordered life, Paula Carson arrives.

Paula is a smart-aleck, seems to have a superiority complex, and has a decidedly East Coast personality. And she’s incredibly flirtatious! Lana has no idea how Paula figured out she was a lesbian, but it is clear Paula would like to add Lana to her lists of conquests.

The thing of it is, though, that eventually Lana begins to believe that wouldn’t be such a bad idea…
