Downloading Payback's A Bitch

A niece’s insistence that her mother’s death was not the result of a fall down the basement stairs has Cat Harris wondering just how much credit she should give the thirteen-year-old’s story. Natalie had made it clear on more than one occasion that she disliked her step-father. As a former RCMP office and now a private investigator, Cat didn’t particularly like him either. Something about the man put the hair up on the back of her neck.

When a late night phone call informs her that Natalie and her older sister have disappeared, she drops everything to go and look for them. When she and her partner, Olivia Jeffries, arrive in the small town where the girls lived, they discover that not only has her nieces’ home been ransacked, but the stepfather has also disappeared, leaving only bloodstains behind.

Fearing the worst, Cat and Olivia set off on a hunt for the girls, not knowing what they are going to have to deal with until they are found.
