Detective Darby Patience is leading a murder case which is rapidly growing. As a lead detective at Five Bridges Police Station, it’s Darby’s job to ensure that the case is solved. Richard Marster’s is behind bars after being apprehended for the murder of a young, blonde female in her twenties, but since investigating the case, Darby has discovered multiple other murders await discovery.

Darby has unwittingly become involved with another key figure in the case. Marster’s daughter, Tig. Tig Marsters is keen to help the police remember key events from her childhood, willing to undergo hypnosis in order to recall times when her father might have been killing vulnerable women. The trouble is, Darby and Tig have a personal connection which neither of them can deny. As the case progresses and the complexities of Tig’s father’s nature become clearer, the two women struggle to navigate the case alongside their growing relationship.
