Avery Taylor has always been perfect, but sometimes that isn’t even enough. Even after Avery’s graduated high school as valedictorian, spent her first year and a half of college with a nearly 4.0 GPA, and secured next year's head cheerleader position for the Forest Grove Spartans, Avery’s parents still aren’t satisfied; they also want her to find a steady boyfriend before the end of college. What Avery can’t tell them is how close she is to breaking under the pressure – or how she might actually be interested in women.

Claire Lowman, the star kicker for the Spartan football team (and only female player on the team), has always connected well with her male teammates, and often struggled to hold onto friendships with women – which sucks, since she’s been out as a lesbian since high school.

When the Spartans head off to their biggest away game of the year, an administrative mix-up causes Claire and Avery to room together at the hotel instead of with their respective teammates. At first, the two think they have nothing in common. But after two nights in a hotel – and one intense game day – Claire and Avery realize that they have a deeper, sexier connection than they ever could’ve imagined, even in their wildest fantasies.
