I only met Kyle and Trevor because they also got kicked out of their foster families for trying to seduce their Daddies. At least they didn’t do it in a diaper. But it’s the middle of July and we’ve been in the shelter for too long. I’ve been yelled at by enough homeless guys to know that the second I age out, I’m dead meat. Because Minneapolis is a dangerous place for boys like us. Untouched boys. Boys who will do anything for an older man. So when Kyle and Trevor ask me to homestead in the North woods, I jump at the chance. “Come on,” Kyle says, “it will change your life. You can’t get in trouble with the system.” And so I go along with it. What they don’t tell me is that the North woods is dangerous. Bears trail you and track your scent. Food isn’t as abundant as the YouTube videos led us to believe. And now it’s day three and Kyle and Trevor want to leave. “How can you do this to me?” I cry, “you promised you wouldn’t abandon me!” “We don’t have a choice, Blakely. We’re going back for help.” And so they leave. Except it’s the middle of the night and something is scratching at my tent. I need a Daddy to save me.
