Beau, like most millennials having lived through their four hundredth global crisis, just wanted to work on herself for a while. She'd moved in with her grandma, sworn off the dating scene and hell, she'd even bought some of those prompt-y journals that ask you things like, "Who supported you today?" and "When was the last time you told yourself how fabulous you are?" Beau wants simple, uncomplicated and peaceful. Unfortunately for her, life doesn't give a rat's rear end what you want. When one of her friends shows up at midnight, in trouble, she's forced to sacrifice her peace for doing what is right by her found family. And when that found family member thanks you by putting you into a drawing where you win a date with your high school nemesis? Well, that's complicated. Mollie was Beau's biggest enemy when they were younger, and she can't imagine being forced to spend an afternoon at a carnival with her. But as the grease cooking the funnel cakes sizzle, so does the tension between Mollie and Beau. Has Mollie changed? Or is she the same shallow girl that Beau remembers?
