Everett wasn’t lucky. Whenever he believed luck was on his side, he was reminded why he shouldn’t put faith in wishes or dreams. It never worked.
His life might be boring to most, but he liked it. He worked with his hands, had a best friend to annoy him, and a dog to keep him company. The only thing missing from his life was someone to warm his bed, but considering he was one of two gay men in his small town, that didn’t happen often. He’d made peace with only having the occasional hookup. It was just easier that way.
Meeting a cute guy in town before his best friend’s wedding was pure luck, but he hadn’t meant to swoop in and claim him as his boyfriend. But here he was, feeling things he hadn’t ever felt before. It looked like, for once, luck was on his side.
The morning after the best night of his life, he was reminded why luck had nothing to do with love.
