After hearing news of his father’s ailing health from his estranged brother, photographer Aki Kurata plans a trip to California. Aki fears disappointment from his father over his latest failed relationship, dreading the visit could be his last. With the help of a Craigslist ad, he meets Jamie Kelly, a nightclub bartender, to pose as his longtime boyfriend, Brian.

Jamie, seeking his own need to head west to visit his only sister, reluctantly answers the ad with the help of his friend Jenna. When the two meet, there is an immediate connection—both physical and mental—between them, making the week-long “purely-contractual” visit seem nearly impossible. Although the two men each enter the agreement with completely separate agendas, they edge into a whirlwind of emotions neither one saw coming…
