Sofia Marino is a self taught pastry chef just trying to help her friend's cafe flourish. She's not looking for love, but when an attractive woman comes into the cafe and unwittingly critiques her baked goods within earshot, things get a lot more complicated.

The critic becomes a regular customer and Sofia must navigate her feelings and how far down this rabbit hole she wants to go.

I've read a most of Rey Luca's books on this site and she's pretty good. Each book has characters that are fairly different. Her books don't have that finite HEA that most FF romance books have, and they usually require another read, which isn't a bad thing. This particular book is no exception. The characters are flawed and beautiful and most of the situations feel organic. There are some triggers in this book which should be noted: emotional trauma, depression and death. But it's a romance with an HEA, so there's that.
